Terms and Conditions
Astra Despatch operates under the following terms and conditions. Any disputes are to be subject to the laws of
Great Britain.

Carriage of Goods

Astra will always endeavour to use its own dedicated vehicles for the carriage of any goods entrusted to it, but
reserves the right to use third party subcontractors if necessary to effect delivery.

At all times, Astra will ensure that its vehicles, and those of any subcontractors it uses, are fully insured and carry
Goods In Transit insurance up to at least RHA limits applicable at the time of shipment. European shipments are to be
insured at the applicable CMR or Warsaw Convention limits.

Astra reserves the right to decline any shipment that it considers insufficiently packed or to be of an inappropriate
nature eg Hazardous freight, Valuables, Fragile items etc, and to refuse to accept any liability for loss or damage to
such items should the shipper not make Astra aware of the nature of the shipment

Astra will always endeavour to meet the specified delivery times, but accepts no responsibility whatsoever for any
consequential loss, however caused, that the shipper may incur as a result of Astra not meeting such specified
delivery time.

Any loss or damage MUST be reported in writing to Astra no later than Seven days after the date of delivery of the
goods.

Pricing Structure

All Prices are quoted on a per job basis based on the one way mileage from Colchester to the specified destination, as
calculated using AND Route 97 route finder software. VAT is payable at the prevailing standard rate.

A basic rate of �0.66 per mile is payable for Small Vans and �0.80 per mile for Transits for up to 150 miles. Above this
distance, a sliding scale is applied, details of which are available on request.

All prices are quoted based on our standard trading terms of payment of invoice within 14 days of receipt. Astra
reserves the right to charge interest on any overdue invoices, unless other terms have been previously agreed.

Astra reserves the right to amend these prices without notice and to charge a premium for out of hours deliveries and
for work undertaken at weekends and Bank Holidays.
